Delores M. Heidemann, 89, of Shell Rock and formerly of Tripoli, died Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at the Shell Rock Healthcare Center.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 19, 2017, at St. John Lutheran Church-Crane Creek of rural Tripoli with Rev. Sandra Burroughs officiating. Interment will follow at the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held for an hour preceding the funeral service at the church on Sunday. Memorials may be made to the family for later designation.
Delores Mary, daughter of Fred and Ida (Ohlendorf) Schuldt was born December 17, 1927, at the family’s home rural Bremer County. She was baptized in 1928 and confirmed in 1940, both at St. John Lutheran Church-Crane Creek. Delores received her education in the country schools, rural Bremer. On June 19, 1949, she was united in marriage with Merlyn E. Heidemann at St. John Lutheran Church-Crane Creek. Delores worked as a clerk for many years at Tripoli Hardware, before retiring in 1981. She was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church-Crane Creek, long time member of Grace Lutheran Church, and the ELCA Lutheran Women’s Group. Delores enjoyed wood working, paint by number, Bingo, tilling gardens, fishing, and spending time with family.
Delores is survived by her two sons, Roger (Debra) Heidemann of Shell Rock, and Ronny (Wanda) Heidemann of Marshfield, Missouri; five grandchildren, Robby (JoAnna) Heidemann of Clarksville, Kristi (Nathan) Tarr of Ankeny, Derik (Becky Smith) Heidemann of St. Louis, Missouri, Chelsey (Zach) Cloe of Cedar Rapids, and Dustin (Tessa) Heidemann of Ackley; seven great-grandchildren, Andrew Heidemann, Elijah Tarr, Owen Tarr, Abigail Heidemann, Daxson Heidemann, Henry Cloe, and Finlay Cloe, and a son to be born to Robby and JoAnna Heidemann in January for her eighth-great-grandchild; two sisters-in-law, Violet Schuldt of Tripoli, and Margaret Schuldt Powell of Waverly, and one step-brother-in-law, Eldon Heidemann of New Hampton.
In addition to her parents, and husband, Merlyn, who died in 1977, she was preceded in death four brothers, Lawrence Schuldt, Leo Schuldt, Minor Schuldt, and Lorraine Schuldt; and one sister, Edna Snelling.
